FLORIDA DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES COUNCIL (FDDC)

Florida Developmental Disabilities Council’s (FDDC) and WellFlorida Council authored three reports which thoroughly discuss the unmet needs of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), as well as their families and/or caregivers. The reports address the needs of unserved and underserved populations and is reflective of the state’s diversity, while also emphasizing advocacy, capacity building and the potential for systems change. SPINAL CORD INJURY IN FLORIDA

WellFlorida, Florida Department of Health Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program (BSCIP) and its partners, the Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology, Inc. (FAAST), and the FAAST Spinal Cord Injury Resource Center (FSCIRC) and its Advisory Committee came together to conduct Florida’s first comprehensive needs and resources assessment of individuals with spinal cord injury (SCI) and to develop a five-year strategic plan for SCI in Florida.

An invaluable resource for hospital and nursing home administrators, researchers and community health planners, medical facilities utilization data are available from WellFlorida Council via an online data base service or through customized data reports generated by WellFlorida. WellFlorida has worked with hospitals and nursing homes throughout our 16 county region to gather data on licensed beds, available beds, occupancy statistics, payor source, total admissions and other relevant information. Clients can access this data by requesting a custom report from WellFlorida or subscribing to the online medical facilities utilization database.
