Save the date: FCC to hold broadband health event in Florida

Interested in learning more about the future of telehealth both in Florida and across the country? Want to hear how leaders across the health and technology sectors envision the health and care system of the future?

The Federal Communications Commission’s Connect2Health Task Force is co-hosting a policy summit with the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville on October 1. The Summit, Building Broadband Health Ecosystems in Florida and Beyond, will highlight how broadband-enabled health technologies can transform health and care for seniors and people with disabilities. The Summit will feature industry leaders, innovators, telehealth practitioners, public policy thinkers, healthcare providers, rural telehealth experts and more.

As our population ages and more Americans assume caregiving tasks for family members, broadband health technologies hold great promise to help address access to care issues, facilitate the next generation of caregiving and provide new self-management tools. I encourage you to join me for this important event highlighting innovative Florida telehealth projects and the future of connected care.

Speakers will include Kendra Siler-Marsiglio, Rural Health Partnership Director and CommunityHealth IT President of WellFlorida Council, and Candice King, Executive Director of ACORN clinic.

This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. If you would like to attend, please e-mail with “Registration” in the subject line and provide your name, organization affiliation and contact information.
