Health Care 2015: How To Solve Enrollment Issues
The Feb. 15 deadline for the current health care enrollment period is less than one week away. Until that time, organizations such as the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida, WellFlorida Council and Enroll America will host sign-up events and offer services to assist with enrollment.

Health Insurance Marketplace Navigators will be available at Lake Butler Hospital to help North Central Floridians enroll in insurance before the Feb. 15 open enrollment deadline. The health insurance enrollment events will take place on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 15 from 1 to 5 p.m. The hospital is located at 850 East Main Street, Lake Butler.

Open enrollment for insurance through the Health Insurance Marketplace created by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ends Feb. 15. When Open Enrollment is closed, those wishing to enroll can only do so if they experience a life-changing event, such as having a baby or moving to a new state. Most individuals are required to have health insurance or pay a penalty, which in 2015 will be 2% of household income or $325 per adult and $162.50 per child.The next Open Enrollment period begins Oct. 15, 2015.
