Library Partnership will host its 4th annual Health Fair to empower the community with the knowledge and tools they need to make healthier lifestyle choices.

Statewide research consortium receives $7.9 million for research to improve patient outcomes
One Florida Clinical Research Consortium
A statewide partnership among the University of Florida, University of Miami, Florida State University, health care systems, health plans, providers and patients was approved for a three-year, $7.9 million funding award by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, or PCORI, to support patient-centered health care research throughout Florida and the country.

Health Insurance Marketplace Navigators from the WellFlorida Council will offer free enrollment assistance to individuals and families who wish to enroll or re-enroll in the Affordable Care Act.

The deadline to sign up is Sunday.

The “Last Chance” enrollment event will take place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Santa Fe College Center for Innovation & Economic Development at 530 W. University Ave. Walk-ins and RSVPs are welcome.

The Florida Department of Health in Citrus (DOH-Citrus) recently released the 2015 Citrus County Community Health Assessment and Technical Appendix (CHA). Some 1,100 Citrus County residents participated in the project designed to provide an in-depth look at the community’s health. Open enrollment for the Health Insurance Marketplace has been underway since Nov. 1 and ends Jan. 31. If you wish to enroll in health coverage for the year, you must pick a health plan on Healthcare.gov before the end of the month or you may face financial penalties.

Consumers can search for enrollment events on NCFNavigators.org or contact a Navigator in North Central Florida by calling 352-299-0380.

Navigators are trained and certified to provide free, unbiased help to explain insurance options and guide consumers through the enrollment process.
