WellFlorida Art Director and Communications Manager Jill Dygert recently earned a Gold Award from the 23rd Annual National Health Information Awards for a pregnancy and baby planner she designed and edited for Healthy Start and the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Education Home Visiting Program (MIECHV) in 2015. Marion County residents are invited to join a focus group in September to answer questions about marketing messages and how they contribute to the community’s health. Participants will earn $20 for roughly two hours of their time. Below are the dates, times and locations for each focus group. Cancer Connections and WellFlorida’s North Central Florida Cancer Control Collaborative (NCFCCC) are teaming up for a Lunch and Learn on the the topic “Triple Negative Breast Cancer” with guest speaker Dr. Tina Lam. The Lunch and Learn will be held on Oct. 19 from 12 to 1 p.m. at HealthStreet, 2401 SW Archer Road, Gainesville. FreeDOM Clinic in Ocala held a two-day mega-clinic in July where it provided FREE medical, dental and eye care using volunteers to over 1,500 patients. Community Health Workers collaborated with MyHealthStory Technology Evolution Specialists to help patients register for MyHealthStory on iPads at the event. Patients who registered will be able to receive online, securely and privately, their health information from the FreeDOM Clinic visit.
