GAINESVILLE, Fla. (March 25, 2014)— Kendra Siler-Marsiglio, Ph.D., has been nominated for the Inspire-Working Women Award presented by 98.5 KTK Radio. The award, in celebration of women’s history month, honors 21 of North Central Florida’s most influential women.

Siler-Marsiglio is the director of the Rural Health Partnership of North Central Florida (RHP) and president of CommunityHealth IT. RHP is a federally designated Rural Health Network established to coordinate rural healthcare delivery systems. CommunityHealth IT, a nonprofit designed to improve the health of local communities through activated health information exchange, is an offshoot of RHP.

Siler-Marsiglio is being recognized for her work in expanding Internet connectivity, facilitating electronic health record implementation and coordinating patient-approved sharing of electronic patient health information through CommunityHealth IT’s MyHealthStory Health Information Exchange.

Siler-Marsiglio also works closely with the North Florida and South Georgia Veterans Health System to bridge the gap between civilian and veteran healthcare delivery systems.

In 2013, Siler-Marsiglio received the Critical Access and Rural Hospital Champion Award for her work to help the nation’s rural health systems adopt health information technologies.

KTK Radio welcomes the public to celebrate the nominees at the Best Western Gateway Grand in Gainesville from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on March 31. For more information, visit the nomination website at www.inspire.ktk985.com.
