The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is the United States’ primary authority for communications law, regulation, and technological innovation. They provide leadership for the nation’s communications infrastructure, and relevant to the safety net community, provide investment in broadband services and facilities to enable access to global technologies.

HRSA provides funding for community-based programs which are programs that are funded at the local and community level. Several programs, such as community-based health IT programs, rely on the communications infrastructure and services provided by the FCC in order to provide access to quality health care services.

Presenters will provide an overview of the FCC programs available to support telecommunications and broadband community-based health IT programs, as well as highlight examples of how their programs are currently being used to support safety net providers.

Presenters include:
Commissioner Mignon Clyburn
Federal Communications Commission
