Naomi Ardjomand-Kermani to speak at educational summit

WellFlorida’s Associate Planner, Naomi Ardjomand-Kermani, MPH, will be a guest speaker at the educational summit Understanding Sexual Orientations and Gender Identities: A Healthcare Perspective on Friday, March 18 at the Hilton UF Conference Center in Gainesville. Naomi will discuss the need for inclusive and comprehensive sexual education. At WellFlorida, Naomi is currently in her third year of managing the High Impact (HIV) Prevention grant, funded by the Florida Department of Health, as both the HIV Prevention Specialist and Linkage Care Coordinator for newly diagnosed HIV positive individuals. Naomi also acts as a facilitating member of Spectrum, Gainesville’s Transgender Cultural Competency group, and teaches tailored cultural competency to local healthcare providers, in order to improve health outcomes. Most recently, at the University of Florida’s 2015 Lavender Graduation, Naomi was both the Keynote Speaker and recipient of the Outstanding Alumni, LGBT Community Impact Award, awarded by UF’s Office of LGBT Affairs.
