HIV / AIDS
WellFlorida has been deeply involved in bringing quality HIV care and services to North Central Florida’s HIV- infected community for over 20 years. Recognizing the unique and complex challenges and critical unmet needs faced by this often impoverished and underserved community, WellFlorida seeks to optimize available resources in a client-centered care network. Our North Central Florida Ryan White CARE Program provides ambulatory/outpatient HIV care, medical case management, medications, dental care and a wide variety of specialty and supportive care services.
Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) provides short term housing assistance, such as rent, mortgage and utility payments, as well as housing case management to assist clients to maintain stable, healthy housing.
Over the past 20 years, WellFlorida has been accountable for disbursing more than $45 million as part of its fiscal agent responsibilities for federally funded HIV programs in North Central Florida. WellFlorida also provides services in quality assurance and improvement, board development and training, grant writing and program management for the North Central Florida Ryan White CARE Program. In addition, WellFlorida conducts regional comprehensive HIV needs assessments to identify systemic gaps in care and coordinates the creation of comprehensive area-wide plans to meet goals intended to close those gaps.
We have also played an active role in Areas 3/13 Prevention, Planning, Education and Care Partnership, which brings together HIV stakeholders for community planning and provides information on HIV services throughout the region.

Everyone’s Doing It, It’s Everyone’s Business and ARTAS are components of the High Impact Prevention (HIP) project. The overarching goal of this project is to decrease the spread of HIV and link HIV-infected individuals to prevention and care services in Alachua, Marion and Putnam counties. HIP is brought to you by WellFlorida Council and is funded by the Florida Department of Health.
